utorrent ( http://www.utorrent.com/ ) is so much better than vuze. Azureus used to be good back in the earlier days of it's development. Ever since they added the vuze part, it begun to suck big dick. Part of the "every great program gets more and more bloated until it fails miserably" theory I have ;o
There is an option you can set in Vuze to make it so it doesn't load all of the extra stuff they added in Vuze, so that it is basically just like Azureas.
Tell me more >.>
Tools menu -> Options -> Interface -> Start and at the end of the list at the right side you will find "Display Vuze UI Chooser" and there will be a "Show" button. Click it, choose your UI, and then restart Vuze.

This pretty much makes it just like the old Azureus, except that there are still some new features here and there, but all that new stuff they added for the Vuze part is non-existent once you change that option. You can't even access it at all unless you change it back; the menu options aren't even there anymore. When I changed this, I'm pretty sure it made it load faster and that the program was overall faster.

I suppose cain and able could be added to the list of useful programs. (Warning: use at your own risk, I'm not so sure about the legality of this program)

Just here for the activity... well not really

ToPNG - A command line that converts image files into PNG. Useful for us SC users because it supports pcx.

Download a file that you don't fully trust? Use Virus Total to scan any single file or archive. It uses the top fifteen or so virus scanners, so it guarantees accuracy.

Definitely, that program is the best password cracker I've seen around.

PngOut

Automatically cuts out useless data in pngs for lossless compression. You can use it as an irfanview plugin or a command line interface. Also supports other formats (not sure if it supports pcx, but irfanview does). Similar to pngcrush, but this one actually works.

winscp ( http://winscp.net/eng/index.php ) is a pretty decent free ftp / sftp program.

Codecs? You'll need divx and ac3filter for basic movie avi's if you don't use vlc (and I don't like vlc, winamp = better, but i have vlc installed for bin/cue movies as well as for subtitles).
Also, I perfer winrar over 7zip.
Someone I can completely relate to. <3

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

I recently came across some tools:

Several free tools: http://www.pazera-software.com/
I found two I was specifically interested in:
+ Video Converter Suite
+ UPX packer GUI

RunDLL32 clone: http://www.tvsoftware.nl/download_rdll.htm
The clone allows passing of more than one argument to DLL functions.

If for some reason it crashes, I modified the rundll32 clone to work on vista(My laptop):
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/733696/rundll32clone.zip

Anyone know about using runDLL with ordinals instead of names?

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

I did some stuff with wireless, and here are the tools I've found:

We-Fi: http://www.wefi.com/
Client that automatically connects to the best network within range, connects to an online database of over 20 million hotspots, allows rating and commenting hotspots, among other features. Much better alternative to the native windows app.

Default passwords list: http://www.phenoelit-us.org/dpl/dpl.html
Fun, useful, and very popular. Default passwords for connecting to routers.

IDA Free: http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/idadownfreeware.htm
A freeware version of IDA Pro 4.9. Can't use any non-default plugins, but allows the use of FLIRT signatures and IDC scripts. I'll post my own IDC script later(finds and labels common constants).

http://www.roadkil.net
Several free pieces of software that do various things.
Special mention is "Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier", which I used to recover data from a scratched/corrupted CD(Starcraft 1.00).
